Samsung Galaxy A20e – Premium Looks But Budget Spec

Coming in towards the lower end of the Galaxy A range is the 20e, released earlier this year. This is very much a budget phone but with premium looks to make it well worth considering, if you don’t want to pay much more than £120 or so for your next smartphone.

It comes with a polycarbonate back cover, that although plastic, does not look and feel cheap. With a 5.8” TFT screen on the front, it weighs in at 141g.

Dual Array Camera

How about the insides? Well, it uses Samsung’s own Exynos 7884 chip (rather than the usual Qualcomm) with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage that can be expanded to 1TB with a MicroSD card. For normal daily tasks this setup works OK, but if you do any sort of multi-tasking or gaming you will soon notice the lag as it struggles to cope.

Cameras? The main dual array consists of 13MP, f/1.9 wide and 5MP, f/2.2 ultrawide lenses, which produce goods shots, if you stick to well lit daylight snaps. This dual array is backed up by 8MP, f/2.0 selfie camera which is housed in the now standard teardrop in the top centre of the screen.

Fast Charging Battery

It has a fast and accurate rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as facial recognition unlocking and comes running Android 9 Pie. The device is powered by a 3000 mAh battery that comes with 15W fast charging. This means that in just around 2 hours, you can go from 0 to nearly fully charged. Finally, it is available in 4 colours: black, blue, white and coral.

So, if you are looking for an inexpensive yet stylish looking smartphone with a premium feel (but not specs) and want a recognised brand name on the back, then the Samsung Galaxy A20e could be for you.
