The One in the name of this phone refers to Android One, for which this phone is part of the program. For those not in the know, Android One is the out-of-the-box Google version of Android without the manufacturer updates most versions have.
This means that any smartphone running Android One will get the important security and functionality updates when Google release them. This is instead of having to wait for the handset manufacturer to schedule in their own update on their Android modifications. This means that your version of Android will be secure, clean and fast – at all times.
