Samsung Galaxy Note 10 – The Best Big Screen Phone Around?

The Galaxy Note range has always been about producing the best big-screen phone around. Apart from the exploding Note 7 it has done a pretty good job of it. The latest incarnation, the Note 10, does not disappoint either. Its 6.3” near bezel-free Infinity-O screen is housed in a very compact frame that is thinner and lighter than the Note 9, making it easy to use and fit in your pocket. If 6.3” is too small for you, look at the Note 10 Plus at 6.8” (although it costs an extra £100+).

Good camera and internals

The camera array of the Note 10 is pretty similar to the S10 with triple lens consisting of 12MP, f/1.5 wide, 12MP, f/2.1 telephoto and a 16MP, f/2.2 ultrawide. It also adds the Live Focus effects of the S10 to video here. On the front is a 10MP camera for all those selfies.

Powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset and supported by 8Gb memory, means you don’t have to worry about performance. It also comes with 256Gb of storage, which is fortunate as the Note 10 does not have a MicroSD card slot.

No headphone jack

As well as no MicroSD card slot, the Note 10 sadly lacks the 3.5mm headphone jack (as does the 10+). However, it does ship with headphones that will use the USB Type-C slot on the phone, so you can still listen to good quality sound on wired headphones.

Like the S10, the Note 10 also has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in the main screen to deliver fast and secure response. There has been some talk about this sensor being fooled if you use certain non-Samsung screen protectors. But an update has now been released to fix this.

Not Very Big Battery But Fast Charging

The S Pen has also gained some new functionality in the form of Air Actions gestures. These allow you to to do things like change the camera mode by swiping the stylus in the air. Another feature is an upgraded DeX for PC. This allows you to run and manage the files on your Note 10 on a computer display.

Finally, the battery is a 3,500 mAh one – smaller than the one in the Note 9. This is not a particularly large battery for such a phone and the longevity suffers a result. However, it does come with a 25W charger allowing you to charge it up quicker.
