We looked recently at the new Nokia 7.2, so in this article we are going to look a little more closely at its little brother – the Nokia 6.2.
Like it’s big brother, the 6.2 offers great value-for-money and does a good job of re-establishing the Nokia brand under its new HMD Global owners.
So, what do you get for a sub £200 smartphone these days? Let’s dive in and take a look!
Camera is the main difference
Starting with the screen, it comes with the same 6.3” LCD, Gorilla glass one as in the 7.2, in exactly the same size and weight body. The internals, as you would expect are not as strong, with the Qualcomm 636 chipset and 32GB of storage as the base model (you can get 64GB and 128GB models as well, with 6GB RAM).
It is in the camera array that the main differences are apparent. Although still a triple lens setup, the Nokia 6.2 does not have the Zeiss optics of the 7.2. Also, the main lens is 16MP, as opposed to the much bigger 48MP on the 7.2. The other 2 lenses are remain the same – an 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP depth sensor for your bokeh shots. On the front, the selfie camera is 8MP rather than the 20MP on the 7.2.
Save £50?
It comes in two colours – ceramic and black ice and retails for about £50 less than the 7.2. So, is it worth paying the extra £50 or so for the 7.2, or is it better saving your money and getting the 6.2?
Well, it all depends on how keen a photographer you are and whether you need the extra processing power in the 7.2. If you are not an avid gamer and use your phone for internet browsing, emailing and checking your social media accounts, with the camera utilised for the odd family/pet photo, then you’re probably better sticking with the 6.2 and treating yourself to a nice meal out with the £50 you save.
