Try the Nokia 800 Tough if you work in a harsh environment and regularly break your phone

The recently announced Nokia 800 Tough has been designed to work and survive in harsh environments – perfect for the building site and other outdoor jobs.

With a 2.4” QVGA screen and a physical keyboard, it comes with 4GB of internal storage that is expandable by a microSD card slot by another 32GB. It has a 2MP rear camera with flash as well as a 2100 mAh battery. Although this does not seem big in comparison with today’s smartphone batteries, it gives you over 43 days on standby time and 12.5 hours talk time!

One tough little phone

The Nokia 800 Tough has dual-SIM card capability and can connect to 4G LTE. All of which make it a useful feature phone with Internet connection. But it is the ruggedness of the phone that is likely to attract a certain type of user.

As well as being water (30 minutes at 1.5m) and sand/dust resistant to IP68, it also has drop protection from up to 1.8m. Being MIL-STD-810G compliant means that it can quite happily work in temperatures from -20C to +55C, which should see it easily through a current English year – even with the weather we have been having!

To top all this off, it has a loop on the bottom of the handset so you can tie it round your neck and a 198-lumen flashlight at the other end.

KaiOS operating system

The phone does not run Android but KaiOS a non-touch OS that uses less memory and energy. This is based on Linux and with its own app store, the good news is you can get apps like Google Assistant, Facebook and WhatsApp. It is available in only one colour – Black Steel. And the really good news it will only set you back around £119.99.

So, if you work in a harsh environment and are always breaking your phone, give us a call now and arrange to get your hands on the new Nokia 800 Tough.
