As part of a recent update to their lineup Nokia brought back an updated 4G flip phone in the shape of the Nokia 2720 Fold. Starting with the looks, it is a typical clam shell design, 7.59” by 2.15” when open, weighing in at just over 4ozs.
It has two separate screens. The external 1.3” black and white screen lets you see messages or check who is calling, before flipping it open to the big main screen. This is a 2.8” full colour 128X160 pixel resolution display. When you’re finished, simply flip it closed to hang up. The 2720 comes with big buttons for effortless dialling and messaging. You can also choose large text, making it easy to read messages.
Camera and music player
With a removable 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery it provides up to 28 days of standby time from a single charge. The Nokia 2720 Flip boasts excellent durability and a timeless design and is compact enough to fit in a pocket or a purse. It’s made of tough polycarbonate that’s strong enough to handle the knocks of everyday life.
No phone today is complete without a built-in camera and 2720 is no different. It comes with a 2mp camera, but no flash. You have the option of capturing images as a still, a sequence or a video. With a 4X digital zoom, the camera will record videos at 15fps up to 2 minutes long.
On the sound front it has a built-in music player (that doubles as an FM radio) and a headphone jack. Although, for some reason this is 2.5mm, not the standard 3.5mm. If you are planning on storing your music collection on the 2720, you will find you soon run out of memory pretty quickly as storage is only 4GB. But there is a MicroSD card slot, where you can add up to another 32GB
Social media, games and the Internet
For software you get Google Assistant, together with WhatsApp and Facebook pre-installed. You can also access the internet with Opera Mini. The built-in Organiser has an alarm clock, calendar, to-do list, memo pad, stopwatch and timer. It also has 6 games including Tetris and Pacman to keep you entertained.
